The Comic-Con Museum Is Auctioning Off Iconic Movie Props And Memorabilia

If you’ve ever wanted to own a piece of movie history from some of pop culture’s biggest franchises, you’re in luck. The Comic-Con Museum is teaming up with Julien’s Auction’s and TCM during San Diego Comic-Con week with a special exhibit of movie props, memorabilia, costumes, storyboard illustrations and more! The exhibit features pieces from Julien’s “Spotlight Series: Harry Potter & Other Heroes”, and you can see it on display now through July 28 at the museum, nestled in San Diego’s historic Balboa Park.
The exhibit features iconic props and costumes from several iconic film including Harry Potter, Superman, the Batman franchise, Marvel Studios; X-2: X-Men United just to name a few. Some of the highlights include a Slytherin House Student Robe, a Captain America: The First Avenger stunt USO shield, and an original unused Batman cowl designed for Christian Bale from The Dark Knight. These aren’t replicas, they are actual artifacts from the movie sets!
The immersive experience includes special guest appearances and exclusive behind-the-scenes reveals, culminating in a live auction at the museum on Sunday, July 28.

You don’t need a SDCC badge to check out the auction items on display at the museum or to register for the auction. You can purchase tickets to the Comic-Con Museum now for $25, with discounts for seniors, military, juniors, and youths. Children six years or younger get free admission. The museum is open daily from 10am-5pm, and closed on Wednesdays.
