REVENGE OF THE SITH Heading Back To Theaters For 20th Anniversary Screenings

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year, and to celebrate In celebration Lucasfilm is bringing the film back to theaters nationwide, giving Star Wars fans the chance to experience the conclusion of the prequel trilogy on the big screen again. According to the announcement: “The film will run in U.S. theaters and select international territories for one week only and will be available in several formats, including, for the first time, 4DX. 4DX features high-tech motion chairs that sync with over 21 effects, all designed to complement the narrative of the film.”
Revenge of the Sith stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen, and takes place years after the onset of the Clone Wars, “when the noble Jedi Knights lead a massive clone army into a galaxy-wide battle against the Separatists. When the sinister Sith unveil a thousand-year-old plot to rule the galaxy, the Republic crumbles and from its ashes rises the evil Galactic Empire. Jedi Hero Anakin Skywalker is seduced by the dark side of the Force to become the Emperor’s new apprentice – Darth Vader.”
Originally released in 2005, the film remains one of the most pivotal chapters in the Star Wars saga. It follows Anakin Skywalker’s tragic descent into the dark side, leading to the fall of the Jedi Order, the rise of the Galactic Empire, and the birth of Darth Vader. With breathtaking lightsaber duels, high-stakes battles and heart-wrenching betrayals, the movie delivers some of the franchise’s most unforgettable moments.

The re-release also features newly commissioned poster artwork by acclaimed graphic artist Matt Ferguson. His latest design, one of his most intricate yet, depicts Darth Vader’s looming mask overshadowing Anakin Skywalker as he marches toward his destiny. The illustration also highlights the climactic duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, set against the burning skyline of Coruscant, capturing the film’s emotional weight and visual spectacle.
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith returns to theaters on April 25 for a one-week limited run in select U.S. theaters and international territories.
