Loungefly Heads To South by Southwest (SXSW) With Three Nostalgic New Collections!

Loungefly is heading to South by Southwest (SXSW) for the first time, and it’s celebrating with THREE new collections and a full slate of events for fans heading to the Austin Convention Center from March 12 to 15, 2023.
The pop culture accessories label is creating a “Y2K paradise” for everyone visiting the Loungefly booth (#1235) during the show, with three unique activations and plenty of photo-opportunities throughout the immersive booth — all inspired Loungefly’s upcoming Jurassic Park, Strawberry Shortcake, and Popples collections.
“Loungefly is excited to celebrate Funko’s first appearance at SXSW by presenting fans with a brand-inspired experience that brings everything they love about fashion, fandom and pop culture to one place,” said Liz DeSilva, Senior Vice President of Creative, Innovation and Vision at Loungefly.
The new designs will be on display throughout the show, but if you’re not heading to SXSW this year don’t worry. Loungefly has released details about all of the new designs that include glow-in-the-dark, scented, and plush features. We are already obsessed!
Loungefly’s Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary collection

First up is the 30th Anniversary Jurassic Park collection. Journey through the gates of Jurassic Park with the Dino Moon Mini Backpack ($80). The vegan leather mini backpack has adjustable straps, and a glow-in-the-dark silhouette appearing on a moon-shaped zipper pocket. The collection also includes the Dino Moon Zip Around Wallet ($40) and the ” Life Finds A Way” Cross Body ($65) in a retro, baguette design.

Did someone say, Popples!?? Talk about nostalgia alert! Loungefly has a new P.C. Popple Cosplay Plush Mini Backpack ($80) and it’s perfect all the fans of the 80’s toy. The faux fur design features a new design feature. You can wear the backpack with P.C.’s arms and legs out, or tuck them into his pouch which turns into a front zipper pocket so it’s both cuddly and practible. Talk about a win/win!

Finally, there are three new Strawberry Shortcake designs. Each is packed full of adorable design details that are berry sweet! The Strawberry House Mini Backpack ($80) has a strawberry-shaped front pocket with a hinge at the top of the door that opens to reveal Strawberry Shortcake with her pet, Custard. It’s also strawberry scented! Yes. You read that right. The collection also includes a Strawberry House Zip-Around Wallet ($40) and a Strawberry House Crossbody Bag ($75) that’s also strawberry scented!
All of these new designs will be on display at Loungefly’s SXSW booth (#1235) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT which also includes a feel-good room of plush, the flavorful scent of delicious treats and a must-see glow-in-the-dark space.

In addition to the booth, Loungefly is also inviting SXSW badgeholders to a special Happy Hour (in front of booth #1235; March 13 from 3-4 p.m. CT). Fans can get a chance to meet some of the label’s creative visionaries and talk about some of the lifestyle brand’s most sought-after collectibles.
Loungefly will also be hosting a Celebrity Panel during the show (Austin Convention Center, The Next Stage; March 14 from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. CT). The panel will feature Liz DeSilva, Loungefly’s Senior Vice President of Creative, and actress Christy Carlson Romano (Kim Possible, Even Stevens) who will discuss innovative fashion trends, fandom, pop culture, fandom, and finding purpose through passion.
