If you’ve ever wanted an original Star Wars movie poster now’s your chance to get one of the most rare versions of the poster out there — and it’s all for a good cause. Prop Store, one of the world’s leading tv and film memoriabilia companies is auctioning off an ultra-rare version of the poster from the 1977 film with all proceeds going toward those affected by the current humanitarian crisi in Ukraine.

The 40 x 30 inch UK Quad “Hildebrandt” style poster is part of the current Cinema Poster Live Auction taking place on Thursday, March 24. It was created by noted fantasy artists, the Brothers Hildebrandt and is a “quad” style advertisement rather than the traditional vertical-style movie posters many are more familiar with.

There weren’t very many of these posters produced, and it was ultimately withdrawn from circulation and replaced with the “Style C” poster featuring Tom Chantrell’s artwork. Because so few of the Hildebrant version of the poster were produced it’s considered to be one of the rarest Star Wars posters in existence.

Prop Store has committed to donating profits from the sale to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, which provides food, clothing, and other necessities to the people of Ukraine that are being displaced during the conflict with Russia. The DEC estimates up to 4 million people could be forced to flee their homes as a result of the fighting.

Stephen Lane, CEO of Prop Store commented: “Prop Store are thrilled to support such an important cause with the inclusion of our Hildebrant poster as a charity lot in our upcoming Cinema Poster Live Auction on Thursday 24th March 2022. With bidding starting from £10, fans with all budgets can bid on this amazing charity piece and hopefully take home a rare and coveted piece of movie memorabilia at the same time – we expect to see some excellent results for such an urgent appeal”.

Head over to Prop Store’s Cinema Poster Live Auction to place a bid on this ultra-rare Star Wars collectible and to check out the entire auction catalog. Bids can be placed from anywhere in the world, by phone, online, or in person in Hertfordshire, England on March 24.
