STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN Returns To Theaters This Fall For 40th Anniversary Screenings
Mark your calendars Star Trek fans! Paramount Pictures and Fathom Events is bringing Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan back to the big screens later this year to celebratre the iconic film’s 40th anniversary. Fans will be able to catch the 1982 flim in select theaters nationwide during a limited three-night run — September 4th, 5th, and 6th.
The anniversary screenings are part of Turner Classic Movies’ Big Screen Classic Series. Star Trek II is still widely viewed as one of the best Star Trek films. If you’ve never seen it in theaters, or if it’s been awhile, now’s your chance to experience Khan’s pecs (yes that really was Ricardo Montalban’s chest) along with several other iconic moments from the franchise’s history on the big screen.
Here’s the official description from the Fathom Events website:
One of the most celebrated and essential adventures from the STAR TREK universe, STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN celebrates 40 years with the director’s cut on the big screen. On routine training maneuvers, Admiral James T. Kirk seems resigned that this may be the last space mission of his career. But an adversary from the past has returned with a vengeance. Aided by his exiled band of genetic supermen, Khan (Ricardo Montalban)—brilliant renegade of 20th century Earth—has raided Space Station Regula One, stolen the top-secret device called Project Genesis, wrested control of another Federation starship, and now schemes to set a most deadly trap for his old enemy Kirk… with the threat of a universal Armageddon.
This special 40th anniversary event includes exclusive insight from Turner Classic Movies.
Tickets are on sale now. Head over to the Fathom Events website to see if the 40th Anniversary screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is heading to a theater near you!
