Did you binge Ryan Murphy’s new Halston limited-series on Netflix? The series stars Ewan McGregor as Roy Halston Frowick in the ultrasuede rags-to-riches story of legendary designer Roy Halston Frowick, the man who helped put American fashion on the worldwide map.

The series is introducing a new generation to Halston’s revolutionary designs, and now the streaming giant is getting into the fashion business by collaborating with the Halston label for a new 10-piece capsule collection inspired by the series.

The collection will be available for pre-order in June. The fashion house’s CEO, Robert Rodriguez worked closely with the streaming service to choose which outfits from the show to recreate for consumers. The selected 10 popular 70’s and 80’s designs they thought would appeal to current fashionistas.

“It was an opportunity to bring back iconic gowns that Halston himself created, but reinterpret them to make them more modern,” says Rodriguez. Rodriguez hopes this partnership with Netflix will bring Halston back into the spotlight. “Netflix has such enormous reach that the show is going to introduce a younger generation to the brand that did not know Halston,” he said.

It’s not the first time Netflix has explored the world of fashion. In 2019, it partnered with H&M to create a line of clothes that recreated looks from the hit show Stranger Things. But this is the first time the streaming service has dipped its toes into the world of high fashion.

The collection will range in price from $995 to $1,595 — a little steep for some, but definitely more affordable than a vintage Halston piece. According to Fast Company retailers Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus will feautre the collection in their window displays in August, so if you’ll have a chance to check them out in person and pick out your favorite!
