If You're A Jeff Goldblum Fan Put "Because He's Jeff Goldblum" On Your Summer Reading List
It’s not a secret we’re big fans of Jeff Goldblum here at Fashion and Fandom, so we never need an excuse to talk about the actor/musician/host/fashionista (aka God walking among men). But since there’s a new book out celebrating all things “Goldblum” its a good time to reflect again on some of reasons he’s one of the coolest men on the planet.
Like this…
Yes. That’s Jeff Goldblum, in all his giant, inflatable glory as “Dr. Ian Malcom” From Jurassic Park in front of the Tower Bridge in London. You might be asking yourself, “Why?!!”
The answer, “Because He’s Jeff Goldblum.” Obviously.
Because He’s Jeff Goldblum: The Movies, Memes, and Meaning of Hollywood’s Most Enigmatic Actor is available now from Plume Books, and if you’re a fellow Goldblum fan you’re in for a treat! Washington Post pop-culture reporter, Travis M. Andrews interviewed dozens of the actor’s friends and colleagues — as well as fellow pop-culture experts for this “semi-biography, semi-rumination, and semi-ridiculous look” at Jeff Goldblum’s career.
The book is packed full of funny anectdotes, giving readers an in-depth look at the iconic actor’s four-decades long career, going all the way back to his early film roles in the mid-1970’s and his time with the legendary acting coach, Sandy Meisner. Andrews also explores some of Goldblum’s personal passions, and throws in entertaining asides about some the entertainment world’s other quirky icons — Christopher Walken and Bill Murray — to help us “understand” Jeff Goldblum a little better.
From the book jacket:
Want to hear how Goldblum saved a script supervisor from an amorous baboon? Or what he would write on the mirror after taking showers when he was a teenager? How about his feelings on various brands of throat lozenges? (That one could be an entire book unto itself.) Then this is the book for you!
Because He’s Jeff Goldblum is a lot of fun and a must read for any Jeff Goldlbum fan! It’s available now at local booksellers and at amazon.com.
