It’s that time of year again…

Time to the best celebrate the best commercial the U.S. Navy has ever made. Top Gun Day is May 13th, and this year the iconic film is celebrating it’s 35th anniversary. AMC Theaters is hosting special anniversary screenings of the 1986 classic all week with a remastered version of the film playing in 150 Dolby Cinemas around the country.

Some of us (like me) are old enough to remember seeing this in the theaters during it’s initial run. If you're a fan of the film and you’ve never been able to see it on the big screen grab your wingman because now’s your chance! You can head to amctheaters.com to see if it’s playing near you.

The remastered version of Top Gun is also being re-relased in the Digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats so if you don’t feel comfortable going back to the movies yet you can watch the remastered version in the comfort of your own homes.

The special edition has more than four hours of extras, including interviews with star, Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer in a new featurette about Top Gun and the upcoming sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. The highly anticipated sequel has had it’s relese date moved several times during the global pandemic and is currently scheduled for release November 19th. I for one can’t wait!
