It’s not a secret that I’m a long-time Kenau Reeves fan — going all the way back to the 1980’s and movies like Youngblood, River’s Edge, Permanent Record, and Babes in Toyland (because I’m old like that). But as big of a fan as I am, I have to admit — I never knew Reeves also spent some time as a correspondent for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Who knew?!?!

The (CBC) released an old video from 1984 featuring Reeves on Twitter in honor of National Teddy Bear Day. The video features the actor covering a Canada’s first International Teddy Bear Convention — yes, you read that right, and it is amazing! Before Reeeves made his feature film debut, he worked as a correspondent for the CBC show Going Great — a show focused on news-style content for kids. With the future A-lister asking hard-hitting questions like, “Why are the bear’s first names all Teddy” It’s hard to watch the video and not smile. Take a look!

Keanu getting “attacked” by a stuffed bear?!? I mean, it does NOT get better than that! Have I mentioned I’m a long-time Keanu Reeves fan?!? You can see his charisma even back then, but it’s hard to believe anyone watching Going Great back then could imagine a 19-year-old talking to a bunch of stuffed teddy bears would go on to become such a movie icon.

If you’re looking for more of a Keanu Reeves “fix” you can still check out Bill and Ted Face the Music on VOD.
