Head Back To Hogwarts In 2020 Virtually With The HARRY POTTER Cast
It’s almost that time of year again — time for muggles and wizards to meet at Platform 9 ¾ to get ready to head back to school. For the last several years, Harry Potter Fans have been gathering at London’s Kings Cross Station on September 1st and raising their wands at 11 a.m. — the same time the Hogwarts Express departs from the station in the books. But since we can’t get together in person this year (thanks, COVID-19) fans around the world are invited to celebrate the day virtually with the first ever “Back To Hogwarts” livestream hosted by WizardingWorld.com. From the Wizarding World Twitter account:
For the first time, fans will be able to celebrate the day virtually with a livestream event featuring activities and special guests — including the Weasley twins themselves, James and Oliver Phelps. The livestream will also include a special concert featuring music from the films, a special presentation from wand choreographer Paul Harris, and much, much more!
Head over to WizardingWorld.com and join the Harry Potter Fan Club (if you aren’t already a member). Some “Back to Hogwarts" activities are already online, including trivia challenges, craft videos, and shopping guides. More will be added on August 28th when the weekend’s festivities officially kick off. But if you’re looking to start celebrating a little early there’s a limited-edition “Back to Hogwarts 2020” poster availble to shop now from MinaLima — the design team behind the graphic universe of the Harry Potter films.
You can find the print here. The “Back To Hogwarts” livestream is scheduled to take place September 1st from 10:30-11:30 a.m. BST.
