One of the things that has been getting me through the last few months are the virtual reunions Josh Gad has been hosting as part of his “Reunited Apart” series on YouTube. For the final episode Gad brought together the cast of 80’s classic, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and if you’re a fan of the film this reunion does not disappoint!

Stars Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, and Jennifer Grey joined Gad over a video call to share their memories of the shoot — including some fun stories about wardrobe fittings, the Ferrari, and Grey talking about trolling her co-stars the day of the Parade scene disguised as an eager fan approaching her costars for autographs.

Several of the supporting members of the cast joined in as well, ncluding Lyman Ward and Cindy Pickett (who played Ferris’ parents) and Ben Stein, the economist responsible for one of the films many quotable lines. You know the one I’m talking about. “Bueller?… Bueller?… Bueller?” For the record, Stein can still do that improvised monologue about the Hawley-Smoot tariffs.

The episode features some surprise guests (including one celebrity superfan) to quiz the cast on trivia. I am old enough to remember seeing Ferris in theaters when it was released in 1986 (several times) and it’s one of my favorite John Hughes movies, so I was already getting pretty choked up during this episode. Reasons. But when the episode closed with a special tribute to John Hughes (who died in 2009) featuring a montage of stars from Hughes’ films reciting lines from movies I have loved as long as I can remember I cried ugly tears. And I’m okay with that.

It was a great way to wrap up a series that’s been a nice dose of nostalgic escape for me the last few months. Keep going to check out the full reunion below, which is raising funds for CORE — an organization that provides financial relief when a food and beverage employee with children faces a health crisis, death or natural disaster. You can also check out Gad’s earlier episodes feauturing the casts of The Goonies, Back to the Future, Splash, Lord of the Rings, and Ghostbusters.
