For those of you old enough to remember the 80’s (like me) you probably remember seeing commercial artist, Patrick Nagel’s work everywhere back in the day. He was one of the house illustrators for Playboy Magazine, magician David Copperfield commissioned him to make set pieces for his stage show, and one of his iconic images graced the cover of Duran Duran’s 1982 album Rio. Whether you remember the album cover or not you probably remember the Nagel artworkseen on the retro tee of Tony Stark’s Bruce Banner wears in Thor: Ragnarok.

Forever 21 is teaming up with Patrick Nagels’s estate on a new collection. The 12-piece capsule collection features unisex tees, hoodies and crops inspired by the ‘80’s. “This collection is our modern interpretation of Nagel’s iconic illustrations during the pandemic; Nagel defined an era and inspires a new one,” says a Forever 21 spokesperson.
