Sarah Michelle Gellar Still Slays In Her Prom Dress From BUFFY

We’re all finding ways to pass the time while we’ve been staying home to help slow the spread of COVID-19, including some of our favorite genre stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar. The actress got dressed up and posted a photo on Instagram recently wearing a dress all you Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will recognize and as a big fan of the WB show back in the day I’m so here for this!
Yes. That really is Gellar wearing none ofthe than the iconic white prom dress she wore in season one finale episode — “Prophecy GIrl” written and directed by series creator, Joss Whedon. If you’re a little rusty on your Buffy, the Slayer wears the dress to take on the first season’s “Big Bad”, the Master. In her post, Gellar completes her throwback look with a black moto jacket, just like she did in the show.

Fans loved seeing the 1997 dress again, prompting one to ask Gellar for a weekly modeling session of Buffy outfits, to which the actress replied, “that might be all I have.” Say it’s not so, Buffy!!!
