'Top Gun 2' Reportedly Soaring Into San Diego Comic-Con
San Diego Comic-Con is just a few weeks away, and while some of us (like me) are starting to panic about not being ready, the panel lineup continues to fill up. It looks like members of the Top Gun: Maverick cast will be landing at the Convention Center to help promote the film. According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media are planning “some kind of presence” with members of the case apparently booking hotels and plane tickets to San Diego.
No word yet on who those cast members are, but it would be surprise if Maverick himself, Tom Cruise, didn’t show up to promote the sequel to one of his most iconic roles. Cruise has made splashy Con appearances before, most recently at CinemaCon last year to help promote Mission: Impossible.
Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to the iconic 1986 movie, Top Gun. Like the original, Maverick shot in San Diego last year, so it’s a pretty special location for both the film and the production company, Skydance.
Other cast possibilities include Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connely, and Manny Jacinto. Top Gun: Maverick is set to soar into theaters June 26, 2020.
