Friday Five: We've Rounded Up Some Of Our Favorite Pumpkin-Infused Beauty Products
It’s that time of year again. Time to pull out your sweaters and brace yourself for pumpkin spice everything season. Over the last several years, fall has become synonymous not just with the popular PSL, but with pumpkin-themed products all around — including in the world of beauty.
Some may think pumpkin-enriched beauty products are a little gimmicky, but pumpkin is actually packed full of fruit enzymes and vitamins that can both exfoliate and nourish your skin. Pumpkin-infused skin care products can actually help some see improvements with pigmentation, sun damage, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
What we’re trying to say is that pumpkin can work wonders for your complexion. So in this week’s Friday Five we’re celebrating the return of pumpkin spice everything season with some of our favorite pumpkin-based masks, moisturizers, and scrubs.
1. Urban Skin Rx Purifying 2-in-1 Pumpkin Pore Detox Mask & Scrub ($18, Ulta)
This soothing, smell-good mask is self-warming and dual action, and combines detoxifying clay, exfoliating jojoba beads, and enzymes and vitamins all working together to visibly reduce pore size and deep-cleanse and rejuvenate the skin.
2. Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask ($60, Sephora)
This thick, custard-like peel looks so much like pumpkin-pie filling, you’re going to be tempted to spoon it into a pie shell and top it with whipped cream. It uses a combination of pumpkin enzyme and alpha hydroxy acid to exfoliate for smoother, more even skin after only five minutes.
3. Too Cool For School Pumpkin 24K Gold Mask ($8, Ulta)
Perfect for those post Halloween movie binges when you and your skin are a bit stressed out. This sheet mask increases cell turnover to give skin a boost of brightness. Mixed with 24 ct gold to reduced any redness and to leave your skin looking radiant.
4. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment ($85, Sephora)
Known as “The Hollywood 2-minute facial” it doesn’t get much more ‘cult’ than Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate. Not only does it contain pumpkin, but also contains papaya and pineapple which help exfoliate and brighten your skin.
5. Arcona Pumpkin Body Lotion ($35, Nordstrom)
Your body shouldn’t be excluded from the wonderful benefits of pumpkin. This lotion will improve the elasticity and tone of your skin from the neck down.
