‘Black Panther’ Returns To AMC Theaters For Free In February To Celebrate Black History Month

If you’re one of the few who missed seeing Black Panther in theaters during it’s record-setting box office run in 2018 you’re in luck. Disney is bringing the Academy Award-nominated and SAG winning movie back to the big screens for one week to celebrate Black History Month. From February 1st to 7th you can catch the Marvel superhero film at 250 participating AMC Theaters locations nationwide — for free!

In addition to the free screenings, Disney will give a $1.5 million grant to the United Negro College Fund, which provides scholarships to help minority students attend college.

“‘Black Panther’ is groundbreaking for many reasons, including the rich diversity of voices behind its success,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, . “The story also showcases the power of knowledge to change the world for the better, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to it. We’re proud to provide thousands of free screenings of ‘Black Panther’ in hopes it will continue to inspire audiences, and to support UNCF with a $1.5 million grant to make the dream of higher education a reality for more students.”

Black Panther, shattered box office records in 2018 and is nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Original Music Score, Best Original Song, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Sound Editing.

There will be two showings of the movie a day during the second theatrical release. To reserve your free tickets check out the website here. Once you have your passes you might want to arrive at the theater early. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis — and some screenings might be overbooked.
