Disney x Vault by Vans Celebrate Mickey Mouse's 90th Birthday

Mickey Mouse has been making his mark on the worlds of pop culture, entertainment, and fashion ever since Walt Disney first introduced us to the beloved character in 1928. Mickey is celebrating his 90th birthday November 18th, and to celebrate Disney is teaming up again with Vans for a special collection. 

Artists John Van Hamersveld, Mr. Cartoon, Geoff McFetridge, and Taka Hayashi, have all created one-of-a-kind artwork featuring the iconic mouse that will be showcased on Vault by Vans’ classic Sk8-Hi LX, as well as a matching t-shirt. Keep going for pictures: 

John Van Hamersveld

Illustrator and graphic designer, John Van Hamersveld is a pioneer in the worlds of art, music, and surf. Best known for his psychedelic patterns and vibrant color schemes, Van Hamersveld produces bright, punchy graphics for this collection featuring the one and only Mickey Mouse.  

Mark Machado

Legendary tattoo artist Mark Machado, also known as Mister Cartoon, was born and raised in Los Angeles. Known for his richly detailed style of fine line tattooing, his design for the collection features a classic black and grey illustration of Mickey driving a vintage car.

Geoff McFetridge

Geoff McFetridge is a Canadian designer, illustrator, and animator based in Los Angeles. His design for the collection is more minimalistic and surreal, highlighting Mickey's iconic colors - black, red, and especially, his famous yellow shoe. Fly up and away with this denim-on-denim design from Taka Hayashi. We love the pop of pink and the fun ways Hayashi incorporated Mickey’s shoes, shorts, and gloves.

Taka Hayashi

Soar above the clouds with a classic Van's checkerboard inspired Mickey Mouse hot air ballon Taka Hayashi completes the collection with a denim on denim look with a pop of pink. We love the nod to Van's classic black and white checkerboard with the Mickey hot air balloon.

The collection retails from $78 to $100, and will be available to purchase at select Vaults by Vans accounts starting August 25. You can find out more about this special collaboration here.
