San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Movie Trailer Round-Up
San Diego Comic-Con 2018 is officially in the books. Even without the presence of Marvel Studios and HBO fans were treated to trailers and new footage from established franchises, and a few projects that hope to become new fan-favorites.
From Aquaman and Shazam, to Godzilla and Fantastic Beasts, we've got some of the trailers from the movie world that dropped over the weekend we're excited about. Take a look!
Aquaman
So far, Wonder Woman has been the only critical and commercial hit for Warner Bros. live-action superhero universe, so the pressure is on Aquaman to deliver. The first trailer for the film premiered during the studio’s Hall H panel and it looks like Jason Momoa is having a lot of fun with this one. Aquaman splashes into theaters December 21st.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. How gorgeous does Mothra look?!? I'm going to spare you a lot of exposition about this trailer other than to say in my world I want to believe this is what Debussey was thinking about when he wrote Claire de Lune. Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps into theaters on March 31, 2019.
Shazam!
Shazam!’s first teaser is full of goofs and youthful fun, and much lighter than many of the films in the DC Extended Universe so far. It looks like the trailer is serving mostly as a mini origin story to the character of Shazam himself. The movie flies into theaters April 5, 2019.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald is the latest installment in the Harry Potter big-screen universe with Jude Law as the young Dumbledore and Johnny Depp playing the big bad. The trailer introduces the central conflict facing the wizarding community - impending war. Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald will be released on Nov. 16.
Glass
Glass is a movie 20 year in the making. M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of 2000's Unbreakable and 2016's Split — in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller. Glass stars Bruce Willis, James McAvoy, and Samuel L. Jackson, and is set to open on big screens January 18, 2019.
