The Her Universe Fashion Show is one of the highlights of San Diego Comic-Con for all fashionistas. The event has become the world's top "geek couture" fashion event, with designers getting a chance to showcase their pop culture-inspired creations for a chance to design a collection for Hot Topic with Her Universe founder, Ashley Eckstein

The show is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, and once again it will be held once at the  Manchester Grand Hyatt opening night of SDCC, Thursday, July 19th at 6pm. Doors open to the public at 5:15 pm.

Each year, hundreds of design submissions flood in from all over the country. This year's event brings together an all new group of 24 aspiring designers who will send their designs down the runway. The judging panels each year consist of influencers and personalities from the fashion and pop-culture universes.

Three winners will be awarded the opportunity to design a fashion collection with Her Universe and Loungefly for leading pop-culture retailer Hot Topic – a judges’ winner, an audience choice winner and, for the first time, a SINGER® Sewing Company winner chosen for excellent sewing and construction.

In addition to the main fashion show, Cartoon Network will be holding a Junior Designer Showcase for aspiring designers between ages 6 to 17. The four winners of the Junior Designer Contest will be announced and presented with the opportunity to design a piece inspired by The Powerpuff Girls with Her Universe for BoxLunch.

Once again, Host, actress, author of “It’s Your Universe” and Her Universe Founder, Ashley Eckstein, will be hosting the event, and she will be debuting a very special jaw-dropping gown created by 2013 fashion show winner, Andrew MacLaine. Her Universe will be debuting new fangirl fashion designs and fan favorite DJ Amanda Jones will once again be returning to provide music for the event.

The fashion show will be presented by Her UniverseHot Topic and Loungefly in partnership with BoxLunchCartoon NetworkSINGER Sewing Company and ZenniOpticalEspionage Cosmetics will once again be the beauty sponsor for the show.
