Winnie the Pooh Hits London In New Sneak Peek Of "Christopher Robin"
Tickets for the new, live-action Winnie the Pooh movie, Christopher Robin went on sale today. To celebrate, Disney released a brand new trailer giving us another sneak peek at Pooh's latest adventure as he leaves the 100 Acre Wood and travels to London.
I'll be honest. I can't say that I'm particularly excited about all the live-action remakes of its animated classics Disney is serving up these days. But each time I see more footage from Christopher Robin I'm more and more excited about it. What can I say, it makes me smile (and choke up a little bit too, don't judge).
The movie is set in 1949 and centers on a grown up Christopher Robin played by Ewan MacGregor. Now living in London with a full-time job and a family, Christopher Robin is caught up in work-life and has "lost his way". When Winnie the Pooh unexpectedly shows up in the city, the pair begins an adventure to “rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasures in life once again."
Check it out, and have some tissue handy.
Christopher Robin is directed by Marc Forster (World War Z) and it stars Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss as Giles Winslow, Robin’s boss. The movie also features the voices of Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger; Brad Garrett as Eeyore; Toby Jones as Owl; Nick Mohammed as Piglet; Peter Capaldi as Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
Christopher Robin opens in theaters August 3rd.
