I can’t say I’ve been particularly excited about all of the live-action remakes Disney has been doing of their animated movies — especially when it’s one of my all-time favorites like Dumbo. As much as I love Tim Burton, I wasn’t sold on his version of this particular Disney classic, but the new trailer changed my mind.

Lavish circus scenes. Adventure. Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito reuniting with their Batman Returns director. A little elephant in clown makeup overcoming the odds. I was already getting a little misty-eyed from the music but that shot tore my heart out. Thank you very much, Disney marketers.

It looks like it’s going to be visually beautiful with lots of Tim Burton signature touches. Here’s the synopsis:

Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.

What you think? Could this be a Tim Burton masterpiece? Dumbo soars into theaters March 29, 2019.
